Propane
In 2012 we converted most of our mowing equipment from gasoline to propane. Why did we do this? Propane is non toxic to ground water, air and soil. It also burns cleaner than gasoline: 97% fewer particulates, 96% fewer carcinogens, 48% lower green house gas emissions. It is safer to use and 85% of propane used in the USA is produced domestically.
Fertilizer
We use fertilizers from Lesco that are coated with Poly Plus Extended Release technologies which provide a slow release of nitrogen and other nutrients over time which helps reduce the leaching of nitrogen in to the environment. Also, the fertilizer we use for our regular lawn applications do not have any phosphates which has been linked to algae blooms in Lake Erie.
